There is a worrying trend for some companies to call themselves ‘breweries’ when they are not. They are simply having beers brewed elsewhere, and selling them on as their own.
Just Beer considers this as both wrong and misleading to the customer. It is therefore our policy not to serve beers from these ‘fake’ breweries. If we do get caught out (and we have done – twice! – already), we will make it clear at the point of sale where the beers are actually brewed. It is then the customer’s choice as to whether they drink them or not.
We are not saying these beers are bad or inferior – many of them are brewed by well established, reputable brewers – We just think that the companies concerned should be transparent as to where the beers are brewed and who brews them.

So, who are the impostors? I’m intrigued. Publish the list and point out the ones that were on your bar.
